A living room for the Provincie Utrecht. This was the definition for Statenzaal since the beginning. The idea for the project was to translate this professional working environment into a calm welcoming and representative space. The goal was to rethink acoustics, light, materials and function of such a room for their users, especially when spending entire days inside due to long meeting and conferences.
The choice of earth colours aimed at warming up the space, creating comfort and relaxation. The acoustic panels with a representation of the logo of Utrecht changed the acoustics completely and therefore the atmosphere of the room. The details of the bamboo strips in the front of the desks and speaker booth create a visual connection between all the furniture and together with additional upholstery are also improving the acoustics of the space. Finally, lights elements have been added as well, resulting at the end in a much brighter and warmer conference room.
